¹Refer a Friend – Terms & Conditions 

How it works 

Existing member (Referrer) must register at sffirecu.org/refer to access your referral portal and send your unique link via email or social media. 

Your friend/family member must: 

1. Register using the link provided in the referral email or on social media, and 
2. Join SF Fire Credit Union by opening one of the following: 
   • Share account (Consumer or Business): Checking, Tiered Savings, Money Market, or any Term Certificate; or 
   • Loan product: Credit Card (Consumer or Business), Personal Loan, Home Loan, Home Equity, Vehicle Loan, or Student Loan. 
   • Indirect Loans and Trust/Estate accounts are not eligible for this promotion. 
3. Meet funding requirements: deposit at least $250 into the Share account within 60 days of new membership or have the loan funded within 90 days.

Rewards 

• New member: $100 Visa® Virtual Reward after qualification criteria are met. 

• Existing member: $50 Visa® Virtual Reward for each qualifying referral (up to $500 total per calendar year). 

Reward eligibility & delivery 

• Referrer must be a current member. At the time the reward is issued, both the referrer and the referred member must have open accounts in good standing (no negative balances). 

• The existing member and referred member must be 18 years or older. 

• Referral links do not expire. However, once a referred person accepts the invitation and registers using the link, they have 180 days to complete the referral process before it expires.

• If multiple existing members refer the same person, only the first referral registration completed by the referred member will be used by the program. 

• The referred member cannot have previously had a membership with SF Fire Credit Union. 

• Employees of SF Fire Credit Union are eligible for the $50 referral bonus when referring qualified new members. However, employees are not eligible for the $100 new member sign-up bonus if they join as new members themselves.

• Visa® Virtual Rewards are issued to the email address provided at registration. Reward is not transferrable.  

• Please allow 2-3 weeks after completion of all requirements for delivery of the Visa® Virtual Reward. The Visa® Virtual Rewards are subject to Terms and Conditions delivered with the reward. 

• SF Fire Credit Union, in their sole discretion, reserves the right to refuse payment of the reward. 

• This offer runs September 6, 2025 thru March 31st, 2026. This offer can be changed at any time without notice. 

• If you receive $600 or more in prizes from SF Fire Credit Union in a calendar year, we will issue an IRS Form 1099.

The Referrer authorizes the sending of communications to each Referred Person. The email may not be recovered if the person has “opted out” of marketing material from SF Fire Credit Union or ReferLive. Each person who registers at ReferLive authorizes future communications including emails regarding the program unless they “opt out” by making an election at ReferLive or within such email. The Referred Person acknowledges that a Visa Virtual Reward (gift card) will be issued to the Referrer after all conditions have been met in the time frames provided.

²Free Checking 

We automatically rebate up to 12 ATM surcharge fees per month (up to a $4 limit per transaction) should you have to use an Out-Of-Network ATM. Rebates are automatically posted to your account within two business days. We automatically rebate international surcharge fees, but in cases where the fees do not get reimbursed due to processing differences on some out-of-country networks or ATMs, please retain a copy of your receipt so that we can process any rebate of a surcharge that fails to refund automatically. The receipt must be presented no later than 60 days after the transaction cycle ending date of the SF Fire Credit Union account statement on which the transaction appears. Please note that any exchange fees do not qualify as ATM surcharges, and a surcharge must be clearly identified on your receipt for us to process the refund if it doesn't automatically appear in your account.

³Term Certificate

Promotional Rate effective as of 11/8/2024. Offer subject to change without notice.   

Promotional rate valid for net new deposits only with funds that are not currently held at SF Fire Credit Union.  See all rates.  

APY= Annual Percentage Yield. The APY is the effective annual rate of return and assumes that the funds will remain in the deposit account for a full 365 days. Dividend rate for Term Certificates is fixed for the length of the term. 

Active and retired Fire Department employees qualify for a 0.10% rate bump on these term certificates. Premium is the same for SFFD and Non-SFFD alike.

Term Certificates have a required minimum deposit of $250. Fees or other conditions could reduce the earnings on the account. A penalty may be imposed for withdrawals before maturity.

⁴Money Market

APY= Annual Percentage Yield. The APY is the effective annual rate of return and assumes that the funds will remain in the deposit account for the full 365 days. Rate effective as of 11/1/2024 and is subject to change at any time without notice. All savings rates are variable. Active and retired Fire Department employees qualify for a 0.10% rate bump. Premium is the same for SFFD and Non-SFFD alike.

⁵Personal Loan

Available rates subject to change at any time without notice. Rates are fixed for the term of the loan.

APR= Annual Percentage Rate based on creditworthiness

The maximum aggregate unsecured credit limit is $25,000 per member.

• Payment example: A $10,000 loan for 36 months at 9.25% would have a monthly payment of $320.27.
• Payment example: Payment example: A $15,000 loan for 48 months at 9.38% would have a monthly payment of $377.31.
• Payment example: Payment example: A $25,000 loan for 60 months at 9.50% would have a monthly payment of $526.92.

⁶Home Loan

Flat Fee Services are available for California properties only and do not apply to FHS. Flat fee does not include title and escrow fees. Appraisal fee will be collected up front during the loan application process. Appraisal deposit is credited towards closing costs at funding. Appraisal deposits may by refunded if the loan 1. doesn't fund or 2. is cancelled (withdrawn) before an appraisal is ordered. Appraisal costs may vary based on property and transaction type. 

⁷ATM Rebates

Rebates are automatically posted to your account within two business days.
