WAYS TO VOLUNTEER

Give back during tough times

Looking for ways to safely help your community during these difficult times? Below are 5 ways you can volunteer and help your Bay Area neighbors.

5 Ways You Can Make a Difference

In these difficult times, you might be wondering how you can help your community while also keeping yourself safe and healthy. Below is a list of 5 different ways you can help make a difference.

Donate to a Shelter or Food Bank

During this time, organizations are running low on food items. Donating items can help them stay well stocked for those in need.

Visit www.serve.ca.gov to find one near you.

Support Nonprofits

Nonprofit organizations serving vulnerable communities (like seniors and low-income families) need your help.

For more information on donating to nonprofit funds, visit the Philanthropy California COVID-19 Response Page.

Wellness Checks

Wellness checks are an easy way to help and support your neighbors during this time.

Give older neighbors a call, text, or talk through their door. It could save a life.

Hygiene Kits

Create hygiene kits and drop them off at a shelter for people experiencing homelessness to help them stay healthy.

Donate Blood

Donated blood has decreased dramatically. Healthy, eligible donors are being urged to come out and give to ensure there's lifesaving blood on the shelves for those who need it most.

For more information, visit the American Red Cross.

In This Together

Our community has always been one of service, sacrifice, and resilience. Giving back to your community during these difficult times could help make a difference in somebody's life. Together, we'll get through this.
